KENNEWICK 3, NORTH CENTRAL 0: The host Lions earned their first win of the season at a crucial time, sweeping the Indians in a 3A loser-out bi-district match.

“Basically, I just told the girls to play aggressive, go all out — you have nothing to lose,” Kennewick coach Kelly Munson said.

Breanna Shaffer had nine kills, seven digs, 11 assists and three aces for Kennewick (1-14), which will face Shadle Park in another loser-out match at noon Saturday at Kamiakin.

“The offense was on tonight, and our serve receive, so they picked it up a notch,” Munson said.

Set scores: Kennewick 25-11, 25-18, 25-8. Kennewick: Breanna Shaffer 3 aces, 9K, 7 digs, 11 assts; Monica Kaylor 2 aces, 7K, 3B.

Former Prosser AD Fazzari takes over for Coleman at Kennewick

After eight years of heading up Kennewick High School sports, Ronny Coleman has left his athletic director job for a teaching position in the Kennewick School District.

Former Prosser High School AD Anna Fazzari officially took over as Coleman’s successor July 1.
